STREATHAM AND Clapham High School (SCHS) U19 netball squad are in great spirits having recently winning the Surrey Schools Netball Championships.
The talented outfit beat all their rivals in a show of real class throughout the tournament.
The first half of the final against Guildford High School (GHS) saw the lead switch between teams but GHS nudged it 5-4, when they won possession late on and scored off a SCHS centre-pass.
The second period saw GHS extend their lead to 6-4 when they scored off their centre-pass.
Battling SCHS pulled it back to 7-7. It was then sheer grit and determination that saw them go back in front, scoring 5 goals on the trot to take the win 12-7.
Coach, head of Netball at SCHS, Sharron Lewis-Burke said: “It was an outstanding team performance to take the title. Seven matches unbeaten – I am beyond proud.”
The victorious squad will be representing London & South East Netball at the National Schools tournament on March 14.
