Streatham & Clapham High School U19s win Surrey Schools Championships

The talented outfit beat all their rivals

Winners: Streatham & Clapham High School

STREATHAM AND Clapham High School (SCHS) U19 netball squad are in great spirits having recently winning the Surrey Schools Netball Championships.

The talented outfit beat all their rivals in a show of real class throughout the tournament.

The first half of the final against Guildford High School (GHS) saw the lead switch between teams but GHS nudged it 5-4, when they won possession late on and scored off a SCHS centre-pass.

The second period saw GHS extend their lead to 6-4 when they scored off their centre-pass.

Battling SCHS pulled it back to 7-7. It was then sheer grit and determination that saw them go back in front, scoring 5 goals on the trot to take the win 12-7.

Coach, head of Netball at SCHS, Sharron Lewis-Burke said: “It was an outstanding team performance to take the title. Seven matches unbeaten – I am beyond proud.”

The victorious squad will be representing London & South East Netball at the National Schools tournament on March 14.
