Stellar A-Level results and a place at Warwick for Ghana-raised Joseph

HIGH FLYER: Joseph Boateng Jr. was extremely pleased with his A-Level results

DURING THE clamour for collecting results last Friday, one student took home what only most could dream of - an '*A' and two 'As'.

Joseph Boateng Jr. of St Bonaventure’s school in Newham, east London, secured a place at prestigious Warwick University to study Philosophy, Politics, Economics, a course studied by many of Britain’s elite, including several Prime Ministers.

Despite growing-up in economically deprived, gang-ridden Custom House, east London, Boateng has defied all odds and come out on top, securing one of the highest grades across his year group.

Ghana-raised Boateng said:

"I am very lucky to have this opportunity, and I have high hopes of rising to the occasion.

"I know how hard it is to keep your head screwed on in this environment, but it’s definitely possible you just have to keep at it."
