Young woman sought after bus row over dog

WANTED: This young woman is being sought by police in connection with an assault on board a London bus

A YOUNG WOMAN is being sought by police after attacking a commuter over a dog on board a London bus on New Year’s Day.

The suspect, described as a “light-skinned black woman, aged between 23 to 33, slim and wearing a long light brown coat”, boarded route 118 bus travelling between Morden station and Brixton and objected to the pet being on board.

“[She] boarded and became abusive about the dog before assaulting the victim, hitting and kicking her,” a spokesman for the Met said.

The 20-year-old victim, who was on the bus with two others, one of whom had a dog, did not require hospital treatment.

The suspect is believed to have links to Surrey, Sutton, Lambeth and Merton.

A 28-year-old man has been charged in connection with the incident in Merton, southwest London, on January 1 at around 4am.
