World's 'biggest' afro: Takes 'two days' to wash

BIG STYLE: Aevin Dugas

LADIES, IF you needed any more reason to maintain natural hair, just take a look at Aevin Dugas who has one of the world’s biggest afro.

The 37-year-old sports a mane spanning 4ft 4ins and claims her locks have inspired women of all ages to follow in her footsteps.

Dugas, who is waiting on the Guinness Book of Records to take an official measurement, said: “At one time I strived to get hair that was bone straight and now all I want is it big and poofy.”

It took 14 years for her hair to grow to such a level, but Dugas says her mammoth mop has its drawbacks often getting caught in trees, car doors and people's earrings.

She added that it takes two days to wash and dry and is so big she struggles to see clearly out from beneath it - which means she cannot drive with her “hair up.”
