COMEBACK: Singer Whitney Houston has said she is ready to take on the role of Savannah in Waiting To Exhale sequel
WHITNEY HOUSTON says she will happily accept an offer to star in the sequel to 1995 hit film Waiting To Exhale.
The I Will Always Love You singer says that the film's writer Terry McMillan 'keeps calling' her about reprising her role of Savannah in the follow-up to the box-office hit about four female friends managing a series of dysfunctional relationships with men.
That Terry McMillan, she keeps calling about that Waiting to Exhale 2", the 48-year-old told Access Hollywood.
Waiting To Exhale, which is based on a novel of the same name, also starred Angela Bassett, Loretta Devine and Lela Rochon, who Houston hopes will also be as excited as she is about the new project.
"I guess it's inevitable, if my three other friends are in and once I'm finished with this, I'm not going to say no," she said.
Houston, who marks 30 years in the music industry this year, is currently filming a remake of the 1976 musical drama Sparkle about a single mother who is raising three daughters seeking fame.
