TRAGIC: Cocaine use and heart disease played role in Whitney Houston's death

WHITNEY HOUSTON'S death was caused by accidental drowning, but drug use and heart disease were also factors, a coroner has said.

The 48-year-old singer was found dead in her bath on February 11 at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Hollywood, Los Angeles.

According to the official Los Angeles county coroner's (LACC) office 'no trauma or foul play is suspected' in her death.

The LACC also reported that there was traces of cocaine, marijuana, an anti-anxiety drug, a muscle relaxant and an allergy medication in theI Will Always Love You star's system.

Houston’s manager and sister-in-law Patricia Houston told the Associated Press: "We are saddened to learn of the toxicology results, although we are glad to now have closure."

The singer’s funeral took place on February 18 in her home town of Newark, New Jersey.
