What's The Play? with Anthony 'Play' Douglas

US TO UK: A Boogie Wit Tha Hoodie and Mr. Play

WHAT A week it’s been.. where do I start?

A proud milestone moment for me, with my very own song, and what I’d like to call the 2018 summer banger You Decide with Demario and Adekunle Gold- is now out!

The production of this track brings together the collaborative talents from the UK, US, Jamaica, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.

It’s being circulated to all my fellow DJs - shout out to all of you for showing the love and playing it on your sets and radio shows.

Peeps be sure to have your Shazam on the ready so you can add this track to your playlist, official release will be next month…

Mr Play's new track

I'm also pleased to see our England lads make it to the semi-finals, and kudos to Gareth Southgate he’s doing a good job! This World Cup tournament has been very unexpected, with almost all of the top teams knocked out. Commiserations to Spain, Germany, Brazil, Argentina! lol

The vibe in London over the weekend was hype with the gorgeous sunshine too, everyone was out and about from Gay Pride in the west end to football fans dancing in the street and of course the Wireless festival in north London!

I was having the tricky job of multi-tasking between the England match and the Wireless Festival and I must admit, Wireless is getting younger every year. I was starting to feel my age for a moment LOL and most certainly got spotted by my sons friends HA!

My New Yorker “Bronx” friends were in town for Wireless: A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie and DJ Ominaya (Wendy Williams official DK) ! I showed Ominaya my hometown of Brixton and got him to jump on the decks in Rum Kitchen and bring his Spanish Harlem vibe!

A Boogie rocked the stage at Wireless and the crowd went wild when he brought Davido on stage to perform his track I’m Too Fly.

Mr Play and Hardy Caprio

Whilst backstage I also bumped into my fellow Sierra Leonean brother Hardy Caprio – we had a good chat, and we spoke about the successful past year he has had and upcoming plans for the summer and beyond. More to come, stay tuned!
