What's The Play? with Anthony 'Play' Douglas

GLOBETROTTER: Mr Play soaks up the sun in Santorini

GASSED! CONGRATS to my boys at the London Lions basketball team on qualifying for the championships final at O2. Nice one, boys. Well played. Let’s do this!

QUALIFIERS: The London Lions basketball team

I've just got back from a sunny weekend in Santorini. As a DJ, it’s a blessing to visit new places around the globe. Santorini is a picturesque island built a couple of thousands of years ago from the remains of the Nea Karmeni volcano. It’s not your Ibiza or Ayia Napa, no no, it’s more of a chill, relax and eat well type of destination. So nah, not every time turn up. I enjoyed experiencing what the island had to offer from the scenic boat trips, volcano hike and local Greek culture and cuisine with magnificent views!

PICTURED: Krept and Konan at their new dessert spot in Croydon

Big up Krept and Konan on the opening of their new shop in Croydon, Crepes and Cones. Great to see my fellow south Londoner boys making moves like this beyond music, and their new tune to support it, yes fellas! I’ll be sure to stop by and grab a treat when I’m having my cheat day.

This week is SATS test week for the primary school kids. Good luck to everyone, especially my little princess, don’t stress, Dad knows you’re going to do well!

WOLVERHAMPTON: MC Movez is on the up

This week I managed to catch up with artist Movez, who has amassed over 3 million YouTube views and featured on compilation albums with his baseline anthem, WV Make Doe, is returning to music, releasing the follow up entitled WV MAKE DOE PT2. The young Wolverhampton rapper first caught the public’s eye back at the end of 2009 when he burst into the UK grime scene as a member of Stayfresh.

Q: Who is Movez?
A: Movez is a Wolverhampton grime MC from Noose Lane

Q: When did you start making music?
A: I started to make music from when I was around 17/18 and I've been doing music for 10 years now.

Q: What is the grime scene like in Wolverhampton?
A: The grime scene is Wolverhampton is okay it opened up much more when stayfresh was around but we still have major players like Macca, Raider, Casper, S-X etc doing their thing, keeping the city alive!

Q: What would you tell your younger self?
A: I would say focus on your self make sure you have a hard ear when it comes to negativity and people trying to shut you down and never stop moving forward and trying to do new things.

Q: Tell us about your new single WV Make doe part 2?
A: After a break from music, I’m releasing my first single since 2013. The single entitled WV Make Doe 2 features a lyric in the song saying “Wolves In the Prem” - which links in nicely with my local football teams recent promotion to the Premiership. It is part of a new project called It’s Been a While which is due to surface early next year. For me, it’s about making sure everyone knows where I’m from. I just want to stress that I’m doing this for my hometown; I’m a big fan of the club and [I want to] aim to bring my hometown together and celebrate positivity.

Q: Where do you see yourself in the next three to five years?
A: I see my self shutting down shows all over the UK and even in Europe [laughs] with a huge fan base!

Q: Where can we find Movez?
A: You can find movez on: Twitter/snapchat: @Movezstayfresh Instagram: @MovezFlip
