Trio are the real deal

MANE MAN: The Senegal forward has been a sensation since his move to Anfield

LIVERPOOL LEGEND John Aldridge is of the opinion that the team’s forwards should be rewarded whether they win or lose this Saturday’s Champions League final.

Liverpool face Real Madrid in Kiev after sensational displays by the team but most notably player of the season Mohamed Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino.

Now Aldridge has urged the Liverpool hierarchy to ensure they tie the two players down for the future with Firmino already being given a new deal recently. LOVE
“Roberto Firmino signed fresh terms earlier this month and the fans would love to see Mohamed Salah and Sadio Mane get new contracts too,” he told the Liverpool Echo.

“They are the reason we are in the Champions League final and on the brink of European Cup number six.

“They have scored 90 goals between them, and they are the reason we are where we are.

“It is a team game of course, but without their goals this season, Liverpool wouldn’t have got where they are.

“I just think it’d be a fantastic, positive bit of news if the club’s owners can reward Mane and Salah with new contracts - and we could certainly build on that.

“If the club could get it done before or even after Kiev, it is imperative we have them tied down long term.”

TERRIFIC TRIO: Firmino, Salah and Mane face Real Madrid this weekend
Aldrige, who scored 50 goals in 83 appearances for the Reds, added: “Liverpool also need another striker.

OPTIMISTIC
“They need another quality centre-forward and while that might not be cheap, they certainly need one.”

Liverpool will be optimistic in their bid to dethrone Real Madrid on May 26. Jurgen Klopp’s men have destroyed the likes of runaway Premier League champions, Manchester City, Porto and Roma on their way to the final.
