FOLLOWING THE success of his previous compilation releases, which boast two No.1’s and more than 900,000 breath-taking UK album sales, award winning DJ and broadcaster Trevor Nelson has created a brand new compilation album, ‘Trevor Nelson Slow Jams’, set for release on 12th January 2018 through UMOD (Universal Music On Demand).

The album features a sleek collection of soul and R&B slow jams, featuring top-ten hits from contemporary R&B icons including Bruno Mars, The Weeknd and Usher mixed with the timeless likes of Aretha Franklin, Marvin Gaye and Amy Winehouse, providing the ultimate soundtrack to relax and recharge after the holiday season with the finest soul songs - the perfect antidote to life in the fast lane.

The highly anticipated new album continues a string of compilation successes for Trevor which were further boosted by an esteemed Music Week award (the first ever for a compilation album), establishing him as the most successful DJ-fronted compilation brand in recent years.

The new triple release (3CD/Digital/Playlist), Slow Jams, sees Trevor carefully curate a flawless array of hand-picked old school soul classics, modern R&B hits and forgotten gems spanning from the early 1970s to present day, perfect for chilling out – not to mention setting the scene for a romantic Valentine’s Day.

‘Trevor Nelson Slow Jams’ promises to be a must-have in any R&B fan’s collection, providing something for everyone. Ranging from legends such as Barry White, Lionel Richie and Chaka Khan, then hitting us with 90’s R&B smashes from Blackstreet, D’Angelo, Jodeci and En Vogue. This is followed by some of the steamiest R&B hits of the noughties with Ashanti, R. Kelly, Mary J. Blige and Ne-Yo.

Trevor Nelson is one of the UK’s best known DJs, with an illustrious career spanning multiple decades. Having started at pirate-turned-legit station Kiss FM, Trevor went on to A&R artists such as D’Angelo at EMI records. In 1996, he presented the first national R&B show on BBC Radio 1 and continues to host weekend shows at BBC Radio 1Xtra and a weekly BBC Radio 2 prime time Saturday evening show.

His career has seen him win a plethora of awards including 4 MOBOS, a Sony Gold Award and in 2014 Trevor was inducted in to the prestigious Radio Academy Hall Of Fame. He was also honoured an MBE for his work with millennium volunteers in 2002.

With ‘Trevor Nelson Slow Jams’, Trevor further cements his reputation as the UK’s most trusted advocate of Soul/R&B/Urban music with an unmissable collection for anyone who is a fan of the genre.

Trevor Nelson SlowJams is out through UMOD on Jan 12, 2018.
