Time to unwind

RELAX: Ways to unwind following an eventful summer

IT’S BEEN a long, hot summer – and we’re feeling kind of exhausted. Festivals, rooftop drinks, wedding season and spontaneous trips to the park have all been epic, but now we’re really starting to feel the burn.

For those that need a reset either post-Carnival, We have kindly checked out some spa treatments to refresh and revive tired bodies, to get you through the rest of the summer.

Spa Experience by Better – Bethnal Green

Spa Experience by Better, is an award-winning concept based on making day spas accessible and affordable for the whole community.

They can be found in various locations around the country. Their aim is to create a friendly day spa environment that is inclusive and welcoming, providing affordable luxury delivered by friendly, trained professionals.

On arrival we were given our dressing gowns, towels and flip flops and shown to the changing rooms by a friendly staff member who made sure we were equipped with everything we needed and ensured we knew where everything was.

We headed to the Thermal Spa where we could make use of the sauna, steam room and freezing cold plunge pool. The play on hot and cold temperatures was refreshing. There was also the option to chill out in the various silent areas all at various temperatures.

This led nicely on to our ‘couple’s massage’ we where were treated to an hour-long full body massage, which I can honestly say was divine – head to toe relaxation from start to nish. Both therapists made sure we were comfortable and warm at all times.

We finished the massage off with a glass of water to cleanse the body and had the option to return to the Thermal Spa once our massage was finished. A great experience where we left felling relaxed and revitalised.
