Tiger Woods suffers Ohio nightmare

OUT OF SORTS: Tiger Woods managed a career worst in Ohio (PA)

WORLD NUMBER one golfer Tiger Woods managed to register the worst nine-hole score of his career over the weekend.

The American, who has been in the headlines recently because of being subject to racially stereotypical from rival Sergio Garcia, racked up 44 shots in the third round of the Memorial Tournament in Ohio – the highest score of his professional career.

The 14-time major champion notched up his worst ever score over 18 rounds when he hit an 81 at the 2002 Open at Muirfield in Scotland.

After his nightmare round in Ohio, Woods said: “It was a rough day. It was tough out there from beginning to end.”

Woods’ effort left him 16 shots behind leader Matt Kuchar, who went eight under par.
