Tiffany Haddish makes history

WINNING: Tiffany Haddish

FAMOUSLY KNOWN for her infectious humour and on-screen acting talent, Tiffany Haddish reached a new milestone yesterday by becoming the first black woman to host the MTV Movie Awards show.

In her opening monologue, she proudly paid homage to a year of black achievements. “It's been a year of firsts for black people. I'm the first black woman to host the MTV Movie and TV Awards, 'Black Panther’ is the first African American movie to make $1 billion, and 'A Quiet Place’ is the first film to scare black people out of talking in movie theatres,” she said.

Keeping the crowd entertained, her time on stage wasn’t short of laughs as the winner of the Best Comedic Performance for hit movie ‘Girls Trip’, took shots at the Kardashians.

She said: “That family is basically the 'Star Wars' franchise. They make a ton of money, a new one is always popping up, and they're ruled by a bossy overlord who sleeps in a mask and loves black men.”

While she stole the show with her witty humour, Haddish made an eye-catching re-vamp of her $4,000 Alexander McQueen dress.

The white gown reemerged with a fresh new look, which Haddish plans to recycle in the future. “That dress will be making a comeback. I feel great in it. I feel like any woman can rock it and feel beautiful in it,” she added.
