NUMBER ONE: 'Think Like A Man' tops US movie charts
BLACK COMEDY Think Like A Man has knocked blockbuster The Hunger Games off the top of the US box office chart.
Based on Steve Harvey's dating advice book Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man, the film racked in an impressive $33m (£20.5m) in it's debut weekend, according to studio estimates released yesterday.
The Sony: Screen Gems produced movie boasts a stellar cast of black actors including, Michael Ealy, Taraji P. Henson and Gabrielle Union and reportedly took just $13 million to make.
Head of distribution at Sony, Rory Bruer, told the BBC: "It was a wild ride. It just got better and better as the night went on Friday. Then to be up so much on Saturday."
Studio executives had previously expected the film to make about $17m (£10.5m) over the whole weekend.
