Super Song wanted by Barcelona

FAN FAVOURITE: Alex Song still has two years to run on his contract

ARSENAL MIDFIELDER Alex Song is reportedly the next name on Barcelona’s wish-list as rumours have emerged they are preparing a bid for the player.

The Cameroonian national was one of the star performers for the Gunners last season, as the north London club finished third in the Premier League.

Although top scorer and captain, Robin van Persie has made his plans to move on clear; there is nothing to suggest that Song wishes to follow him out of the Emirates.

Catalan newspaper Sport say new Barcelona manager, Tito Vilanova, will move for Song with a bid in the region of £12.5m, after discussing the matter with players and coaching staff.

Song and former Arsenal favourite Cesc Fabregas – who returned to the Nou Camp in 2001 – are still close friends.
