DO THE RIGHT THING: Spike Lee has not publicly commented on the allegations
59 YEAR-OLD movie director Spike Lee is facing a lawsuit which described him as taking on
"fraudulent operation and control of Black Butterfly (his production company)," in a New York court this week.
Three unions representing employees of Black Butterfly and his other company, Forty Acres, have come together in outcry against what they say is Lee's failure to pay out on health plans and benefits as he should. Some £36,000 is said to have been witheld from the workers and the lawsuit claims that Lee himself acted irresponsibly as opposed to naming the company as the responsible entity; which is the norm is such cases.
Lee has not made a statement to fans and the American public since the case has been made public.
