A SPECIAL MAN: The late Mr.Fairweather smiles for the camera
HAROLD FAIRWEATHER, the eldest child of the world's oldest citizen Violet Mosse Brown, peacefully passed away at home in Jamaica yesterday.
The ninety-seven-year-old was hypertensive and had been afflicted with an illness, shortly before his death, according to a family member.
Fairweather lived with his 117-year-old mother in Trelawney, Duanvale. He was born and raised there but spent much of his life in Britain. His carer Elaine McGrowder told the Associated Press: “He was a beautiful man – very, very special.”
Mr. Fairweather celebrated his birthday last Saturday, on the same day that his mother was declared the oldest person on earth, following the death of the last person to be born in the 19th century - Italian Emma Morano.
Ms Brown, fondly referred to as Aunt V, was born on March 10, 1900.
Harold is survived by four siblings.
