SisQó still waiting for Thong Song royalties 16 years later

LAWSUIT: Thong Song is one of SisQó's biggest hits

IT'S BEEN more than 15 years since R&B star SisQó dropped Thong Song”, but the singer claims that he still hasn’t received what he’s owed from the success of the 1999 mega hit and several other songs from his catalog.

According to TMZ, the singer, real name is Mark Andrews, filed a $3.6 million lawsuit over royalties he's waited 16 years to receive.

In his lawsuit, Andrews said that he hired 27 Red Music to collect royalties from multiple music publishing companies for songs he released between 1996 and 2005, including Thong Song.

According to the Dru Hill member, the company successfully collected the money, but failed to hand over the $600,000 that they rounded up on his behalf.

On top of the $600,000 that he says he’s owed, the Incomplete singer is also requesting $3 million in punitive damages.

If he wins his case it will be a welcome financial boost to the Baltimore native, who has an estimated net worth of just $4 million.
