Runaway artist auction

WORKS BY artist Adjani Okpu Egbe will feature for the first time, among other artists, in an auction sale organised by Phillips in collaboration with British Friends of Museums in Israel.

The Cameroonian who ran away from home, dropped out of school and then joined the British Army on his way to becoming an artist, and
told The Voice he was looking forward to the event which will see his ‘Home Sweet Home’ 90x100cm piece sell for an estimated £2,000-£3,000.

Okpu-Egbe, who studied archaeology, history of political thought and international relations at The University of Buea, will also have two other pieces on sale during January, which will be available in the UK.
