Red Rose Valentine's Ball raises funds for JA charities

CELEBRATIONS: Seven lucky patrons at the Valentine’s Red Rose Ball cut a special birthday cake in their honour.

FRIENDS OF the Noel Holmes Memorial Hospital and West Heaven Children’s Home charities hosted their annual Valentine’s Red Rose Ball and Champagne Party at the La Royale Banqueting Suites, Tottenham, north London recently.

The night came complete with first-class entertainment and Jamaican cuisine.

One of the treats for guests packed into the popular ballroom was the colouful birthday cakem which was produced for those marking their special day on the night.

Six lucky ladies and one gent were the toast of the night as they participated in a cake cutting ceremony, which was greeted by cheers from friends and family.

After the meal, patrons were then treated to a superb entertainment package which included a soulful cabaret performance from singer Sharon Adela with her Motown revue, comedian Pingwing with his side-splitting performance.

Saxophonist Lascelles James thrilled the ladies with his reggae and R&B numbers, which gave a fitting tribute to the Valentine’s atmosphere.

It was then left to DJ Cowboy and DJ Daddy P to round off the night with dancing music until the wee hours of the morning.

The Noel Holmes Memorial Hospital and West Heaven Children’s Home charities, run by Ms Gloria Leslie, have been raising much-needed funds for the Jamaican institutions based in Hanover for over 19 years and will host another fund-raising dinner and dance event on June 4 in Tottenham.
