Police save rapper DMX's life after he's found unresponsive

RAPPER DMX is reportedly on the mend after being found unconscious in New York earlier this week.

The hip-hop star, 45, was allegedly found unconscious after suffering an asthma attack in the Ramada Yonkers hotel parking lot. He had apparently been sick with bronchitis the past couple of days, TMZ reported.

According to reports, DMX didn't have a pulse, and police revived him with CPR after he collapsed on Monday (Feb 8).

An ambulance was called, and he is now resting at a nearby hospital, where he is in stable condition.

“The cops did a great job, they saved [his] life — no doubt about it,” a police spokesman said.

A witness believed to be at the scene, who allegedly knows the rapper, said he had taken a powdered drug before he collapsed, a police source said.

A rep for DMX, whose real name is Earl Simmons, claimed yesterday (Feb 9) that he had suffered another asthma attack.

But a source familiar with the situation fired back: “They’re trying to cover up by saying it was an asthma attack. Obviously they don’t want to put out that this was an overdose.”

No drugs were found at the scene and no criminal charges were filed, the police source said.
