Perri Shakes-Drayton is through to the 400m hurdles final

NO SWEAT: Perri Shakes-Drayton in action at the World Championships in Moscow (PA)

BRITISH RUNNER Perri Shakes-Drayton has booked her place into the finals of 400m hurdles at the World Athletics Championship in Moscow.

The 24-year-old burst past defending champion Lashinda Demus to win her semi final leg in 53.92 seconds.

The East Ender has already surpassed her performance at her first attempt during the competition in Berlin at the 2009 World Championship in Athletics where she bowed out at the semi final stage.

Czech Republic's Zuzana Hejnova qualified fastest overall from the two heats.

Fellow Briton Eilidh Child also qualified for the final which takes place on Thursday at 5pm.
