NEW: Pepsi to use Michael Jackson in new campaign - Late music icon's image will appear in commercials for the drink company
DRINKS GIANTS Pepsi have announced that they are to use the likeness of late music icon, Michael Jackson, in their new international marketing campaign.
A series of TV adverts will run globally and special edition cans with Jackson’s image have reportedly been discussed by the company as a part of their latest deal penned with the superstar's estate.
The campaign, which is rumoured to include some remixes of the singer's music, will also coincide with the 25th anniversary of MJ’s multiplatinum-selling album Bad.
In 1984 Jackson famously suffered severe burns to his head when his hair caught on fire while shooting a commercial for Pepsi.
The company were said to have compensated the then young singer a massive $1.5 million for his injuries, which were said to have left some permanent damage to his scalp.
Fans in China and the U.S. will be the first to lay eyes on the ads as the campaign kicks off in the countries over the coming weeks.
