Patrick Vieira lobbies council to rebuild mansion home

BUILDING PLANS: Patrick Vieira and wife Cheryl want to rebuild their north London mansion

WORLD CUP winner Patrick Vieira and his wife have lodged plans to a London council to knock down their £3m Hampstead mansion and rebuild it with the addition of an underground garage.

According to plans presented to Camden Council, the former Arsenal captain, 37, and partner Cheryl have requested permission to demolish their home, due to problems with damp.

The planning application states they want to erect a new four-storey family home on the site of the existing three-storey property.

The home – which includes an indoor swimming pool – is described as suffering from “extensive damp problems throughout.”

The new property would include a basement car park with a car lift and a “living” sedum roof.

Having finished playing football in 2011 at Manchester City, Vieira currently has an ambassadorial role at the Etihad, and also has a £2.2m home in Cheshire.
