The Ox selected for the Three Lions

CHOSEN ONE: Oxlade-Chamberlain

UNCAPPED TEENAGER Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is one of the most notable selections in the England squad for the European Championships in Poland and Ukraine in June.

In his first season in the Premier League since joining Arsenal from Southampton for £12m in August 2011, the 18-year-old winger scored two goals and made one assist for the Gunners.

Son of former England international Mark Chamberlain, Alex has scored four goals in eight appearances for the England Under-21s.

While Oxlade-Chamberlain was chosen by England manager Roy Hodgson, there was no room for the likes of former Three Lions captain Rio Ferdinand, Premier League winner Micah Richards, Tottenham Hostpur winger Aaron Lennon or Aston Villa striker Darren Bent.

England begin their European Championship campaign against France at the Donbass Arena in Ukraine on June 11.
