KILLED: Carl Beatson Asiedu, also known as DJ Charmz
A MAN suspected of killing a London DJ then fleeing to Nigerian has been arrested following a recent Facebook appeal.
Jeffrey Okafor, 23, was arrested by Nigerian police on Tuesday (September 23) and is expected to be extradited to the UK.
He is believed to have been involved in the murder of Carl Beatson Asiedu on August 1, 2009, outside a London nightclub Vauxhall, in south London.
The 19-year-old, known as DJ Charmz, was well-known on the clubbing scene and had previously starred in a BBC children's show, MI High.
He had performed a set at the Club Life nightclub in Goding Street before he was stabbed in the heart after the friends he was with got into a fight with another group.
In a recent appeal on the 5th anniversary of his death, the victim's father John Asiedu spoke of his heartache.
He said: "I still feel the pain and get a lump in my throat whenever his tragic death crosses my mind, or when I hear that someone has been stabbed to death.
"Part of me died with him and I have to carry on living with what is left of me. Carl's tragic death has changed my view of life, people, the justice system and the world."
