Model (mis)behaviour

PAYOUT: Naomi Campbell

NAOMI CAMPBELL has been forced to pay a photographer damages for 2009 ‘attack’ which reportedly left him hospitalised.

The supermodel’s ferocious temper came back to haunt her yesterday (July 21) when she paid an undisclosed sum to paparazzo Gaetano Di Giovanni – five years after he accused her scratching and bruising his face as he took pictures of Campbell with her billionaire ex-lover Vladimir Doronin.

"First she hit with her bag, screaming at me and then she tried to slap me," he told Italian reporters at the time.

"I managed to avoid her – but her nails still got my eye. For a few seconds, I could not see a thing. I could hear that her bodyguards and her boyfriend were trying to drag her away."

He claims he did not recover for three days; a claim he advised was backed up by doctors.

An eyewitness said: "She flew at him screaming gibberish before being dragged away by her own bodyguards."

Campbell, 44, denies the allegations, claiming she was being hounded while holidaying with Doronin, 51, on the Mediterranean island of Lipari.

Di Giovanni’s lawyer, Angelo Pajno, said: "My client has withdrawn his complaint and dropped the civil case, but will appear as a witness at the criminal trial."

A lawyer for Campbell said: "We maintain that our client will be absolved."

Pictures taken that night capture the moment Di Giovanni photographed Campbell and may be used in evidence at the trial.
