MIA’s tribute to Amy Winehouse

TRUBUTE: M.I.A.

FEMALE RAPPER M.I.A has released a tribute track for her friend Amy Winehouse who passed away last Saturday (July 23).

In the song simply titled '27', the Paper Planes singer says: “All rock stars go to heaven; you said you’ll be dead at 27”.

“I took you to the clinic to get you clean, but you couldn’t, said in two days you’re 27 and your destiny was coming”

Towards the end M.I.A’s words allude to the “Rehab” singer’s troubled past with drugs when she sings “you blew that money on a mountain of drugs”.
