Marley's granddaughter cleared

COURT CASE: Bob Marley's granddaughter was arrested

AN ARREST WARRANT for Bob Marley's granddaughter, Donisha Prendergast, 26, who had allegedly failed to turn up to court on two occasions, has been withdrawn.

Diane Jobson, the 26-year-old's attorney, had requested the court not to record the conviction and the motion was granted.

Judith Pusey, Senior Resident Magistrate, withdrew the arrest warrant after she was told that Prendergast was in fact at court on Tuesday (Dec 13) but had slipped out of court before her name was called.

It was alleged that on Monday (Nov 21), officers were conducting search duties downtown in Kingston when the accused was pulled over in a red BMW X5.

It was reported that when the car was searched, police officers found three clear plastic bags containing substance resembling ganja.

It was further alleged that a white cigar item resembling a ganja spliff burnt was also found.
