Man charged with Sheffield car shooting

SHOT DEAD: Jordan Thomas

A MAN has appeared in court for murder after a fatal shooting at a set of traffic lights in Sheffield.

The December 21 fatal shooting of Jordan Thomas, 22, who was in a car in the city centre when the attack took place, has resulted in police charging Asif Yousaf, 32, with his murder.

Yousaf has also been charged with the attempted murder of Neshaun Ferguson, 27, who was in the same car as Thomas.

No pleas were entered during the court appearance, but the defendant has been remanded in custody and is scheduled to appear at Sheffield Crown Court on January 12.

Yousaf and another man were arrested on Christmas Day for the fatal shooting that led to Thomas dying in hospital.

The other man, 25, arrested in connection with the murder has since been freed on bail.
