Man arrested over robbery of senior diplomat

INCIDENT: George Fergusson left blind in one eye after brutal attack in Hammersmith Cemetery

A MAN has been arrested in connection with an attack on the man who is shortly to take up the post of Governor of Bermuda.

The 29-year-old suspect was taken into custody yesterday evening on suspicion of robbing and assaulting George Fergusson, 56, in Hammersmith Cemetery, west London, last week Friday.

The victim suffered facial injuries and has now lost sight in his left eye as a result of the brutal attack.

The suspect is currently being held in a west London police station.
