London born Central Saint Martins graduate dominates at LFW

UP-AND-COMING: Sheree Robinson

CENTRAL SAINT Martins graduate Sheree Robinson has launched an innovative ready to wear knitwear collection using end of line yarns and materials already deemed as waste.
Sheree Robinson Knitwear is one of eight designers chosen by the Prince’s Trust to feature in its first fashion collective in collaboration with Fashions Finest for Spring / Summer 2018.

Her new Spring / Summer 2018 collection was launched by Fashions Finest during London Fashion Week. Her collection consists of ready to wear pieces made up of body con dresses, crop tops, skirts and dresses in going out styles. All are accessorised with her trade mark handmade fringed necklaces designed using inspiration from the garments.

Her pieces include a hand knitted side split top over a matching bandeau crop. Tassel embellished machine knitted skirts covered with handmade fringing are also featured.
Sheree Robinson – Knitwear designer says: “I am thrilled to be one of the Prince’s Trust chosen designers for SS18, it was exciting launching my new collection on the Fashions Finest catwalk during London Fashion Week, and I would like to thank them for all their help and support.

The cyclical cycle of design is very important to me, during my time designing for the high street I saw a lot of materials deemed as waste that I knew could be used to knit outfits for women who love to dress up and stand out. For my collection, I wanted people to see the full potential of knitwear, that they don’t only have to be made from wool and into jumpers. My designs are sparkly and bold, I am inspired by music, fireworks formations and nature – like sea anemones and animals that are colourful, quirky or unusual.”

After graduating in Textile Design from Central Saint Martins Sheree worked in New York developing knitted fabrics for Diane Von Furstenberg and Wool and the Gang. In the UK, she continues to knit for Wool and the Gang and she’s worked for luxury knitwear designer Derek Lawlor and Bora Aksu as well as designing for high street brands Topshop, Miss Selfridge and Lipsy, for their going out ranges.

Fashions Finest supports up and coming designers by providing them with affordable and professional showcasing platform during the London Fashion Week season and throughout the year.
