Levi Roots backs mental health publication

SUPPORT: Levi Roots, left, and one of the recipes from the book

REGGAE REGGAE Sauce entrepreneur Levi Roots is backing a new newletter that raises awareness of mental issues and the impact it has on daily lives.

The monthly newsletter, entitled The Solution, was launched last week (Sept 20) by campaigners, Black Mental Health UK (BMHUK).

Roots, who wrote some easy to prepare healthy recipes for the new newsletter, said: “I am delighted to support the invaluable work of Black Mental Health UK. I share their drive to raise awareness of important factors affecting lifestyle and mental well-being.

“One of the key issues which I am most passionate about is the link between healthy eating and a healthy mind so I’m pleased to have the opportunity to share some of my tasty recipes.

"They aren’t just fabulocious sunshine recipes with a Caribbean twist, they are most importantly, healthy and easy-to-prepare dishes which provide a simple template for providing a great balance between flavour and nutrition."

On the cover of the publication, which is to be issued monthly, is Britain’s first black coroner Dr. Chinyere Inyama.

He speaks about his new appointment and why he decided to advocate for mental health.

Contributions to the newsletter also include a column from The Voice’s editor Steve Pope on Why Mental Health Matters.
