Lenny’s tuck-in marvelous

DELIGHTED: Lenny Henry

LENNY HENRY will host the prestigious World Food Awards in central London later this year, it has been revealed.

The UK comic, who presented last year’s successful bash, set up to showcase companies specialising, promoting or stocking products from a wide-ranging international cuisine, including those from African and Afro-Caribbean cultures, said he was “delighted” to be asked to do it again.

Speaking about last year’s event where the widely acclaimed Japanese eatery Zuma named Restaurant of the Year and Pataks walk away with the gong for Best Marketing Campaign, he said: “There was such an impressive range of nominees and coming from a Jamaican background myself, I think it's fantastic how practically every ethnicity was represented in this unique celebration of world food.

“I had a fantastic experience last year, so I am delighted to be back. It’s one event that you can attend knowing that the food is going to be great!”

The event, now in its third year, will be held at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel, Park Lane, on October 1 and will also feature performances from some of the UK’s leading acts.
