TRANSFER TARGET: Paul Pogba (PA)
ITALIAN CLUB Juventus have reportedly valued midfielder Paul Pogba at £40m as a host of teams, including Chelsea and Arsenal, have expressed interest in the ex-Manchester United player.
The Serie A side are understood to be willing to do business and sell the 20-year-old in order to raise funds for a £15m bid for Aston Villa forward Christian Benteke.
And it appears Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho is eager to snap up the talented young Frenchman and deploy him as a defensive midfield destroyer.
Pogba, who was offloaded to Juventus by United, has another two and a half years left to run on his contract in Turin, but has not yet decided to extend it.
His team-mate at the Old Lady, Giorgio Chiellini, said: “If someone wants to believe in fairytales and Father Christmas that’s his prerogative.
“At the moment, Pogba is the biggest talent in international football in his position. If Juve do receive an obscenely high offer for him - just look at the price Bale went for.”
The Italy defender added: “Paul is settled here and he’ll probably renew his contract, but you never know with the transfer market. Anything can happen.
“When a club is offered an obscene amount of money for a player it’s difficult to say no. No one can promise that a player will never be sold. Every player has his price, that's just the way it is.”
