PICTURED: JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar

RAPPERS JAY-Z and Kendrick Lamar are the top contenders for the 60th annual Grammy Awards, leading with the most nominations.

Hov received eight nods for his critically-acclaimed and culturally-aware album “4:44,”; whilst Lamar had seven for “DAMN.,” a critical favorite and a smash on streaming services that also addressed racial politics and self-reflection.

The two rap titans are closely followed behind by Bruno Mars, with six nominations, and Childish Gambino, Khalid, SZA and No I.D. (Jay-Z’s producer) who each have five.

Other notable nominees include Cardi B, for her monster hit Bodak Yellow, getting nominations for "Best Rap Song" and "Best Rap Performance."

The 60th Grammy Awards show will air live from New York City’s Madison Square Garden on Jan 28.
