Jamie Foxx to produce Marvin Gaye TV series

LEGACY: Jamie Foxx and Marvin Gaye

GRAMMY AWARD winning singer and actor Jamie Foxx has teamed up with the Gaye family to create a limited television series about Motown icon Marvin Gaye.

It’s the first of its kind to be authorised by the Gaye family — though many other big names have tried — and will be done in partnership with de Passe Entertainment’s Suzanne de Passe and Madison Jones, with full cooperation from Motown founder Berry Gordy.

Speaking on the new project, Foxx said: “I’ve been a huge fan my whole life. His brilliance in music is unparalleled. Marvin Gaye’s story has always fascinated me.”

There’s no word yet on whether Foxx, who famously played Ray Charles, will also play Gaye, THR reports.
