CONCERNS: The number of Trinidadians allegedly involved in terrorist activities has increased

A TRINIDAD government spokesman has questioned as “loose figures” the number of Trinidadians allegedly involved in terrorist activities abroad.

Following news stories abroad and in Trinidad that around 400 Trinidad nationals have travelled to join Isis, an official said that these were figures being “thrown out” and repeated in the news cycle.


STUART YOUNG

Minister in the Office of the Prime Minister Stuart Young told a post cabinet press briefing: “There’s absolutely no correlation between that figure (400) and what our official tracking figures are and what we’re getting working along with international agencies.”
