"I wanted to kill black men to save white women,"says killer

DISTURBED: James Harris Jackson

A WHITE supremacist who killed a black man with a sword has revealed that he harboured desire to prevent interracial relationships for years.

Disturbed army veteran James Harris Jackson travelled to New York with the intention of harming black people, and chose a man at random on march 20 to kill.

The victim, Timonthy Caughman, 66, was stabbed in the chest and back and died in the hospital from his wounds.

Jackson told police that he had been harbouring feelings of hatred towards black men for at least 10 years after he was arrested on suspicion of murder.

According to the Daily News Jackson told a reporter that he had his first racist thought when he was just three-years-old and as he grew up, he began to share his views with "like-minded people" online.

The 28-year-old has since been charged with second-degree murder as a hate crime. "His intent was to kill as many black men here in New York as he could," said prosecutor Joan Illuzzi. "The defendant was motivated purely by hatred."
