Hunt for man who assaulted bus driver

ASSAULT: If you know this man, the police would like to get in touch with them

POLICE HAVE launched an appeal after a bus driver was attacked in south London.

It is believed that the suspect, described as a black male, became abusive on board a 78 bus on St Mary's Road in Peckham, travelling towards Shoreditch at about 5pm.

He is said to have grown angry after realising his stop was out of service.

After alighting at the next stop, he proceeded to go to the driver's window and punch him in the face, leaving him with a cut on his nose on the September 12 attack.

The accused, pictured, has short hair, was wearing a dark T-shirt and holding a light coloured jumper.

Anyone with information is urged to contact Detective Constable Andy Barnard leading the investigation for the Workplace Violence Unit on 020 3054 5406 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
