Hip Hop 4 Africa!

STAR: Ja Ja Soze

THE UK’s most prominent ‘positive’ Hip Hop artists have teamed up with
artists from the USA, France and Belgium to raise money for The African Development Trust.

In a ground breaking initiative to bring together a family hip hop show, Logic, Jaja Soze and B-Mus Khalil, who are recognised as three of the most prominent and positive UK hip hop artists, will be sharing the stage with international artists from the USA, France, Haiti and Belgium, for the charity.

The aim of the event, aptly titled Hip Hop 4 Africa, is to showcase positive, organic and ‘real’ entertainment across the diaspora with proceeds going to the African Development Trust who will be working on educational and health projects in East Africa.

The show is to be hosted by AK from the Global Faction video production team and Rashid Nix of Genesis radio, TSP Urban Youth and Deen Street Cyphers.

Ismael Lea South of Deen Street Cyphers said: “Our aim is to take this world wide to places like France, Germany, New York, Atlanta, Lagos Nigeria and Senegal. We intend to make this an annual event to assist our cousins in Africa. Our aim is to host Mos Def, Saïan Supa Crew and Daara J for the next Hip Hop 4 Africa 2013.
Yasmin M. the senior operations manager of The African Development Trust has stated 'The profits from the event will go towards helping the starving, the homeless and uneducated in east Africa."

They added: "The funds will be used to challenge the horn of Africa's famine crisis. Many thanks for Deen Street Cyphers for the help."

Sandro Hippodam the CEO of Up-lift Music said: 'We are honoured to be part of history. We are planning to bring this worldwide.'

Hip Hop 4 Africa will be held on Saturday 14th of July 2012 at 6pm Willesden Library. For mor information check out:
