Guitar hero Nile Rodgers given cancer 'all-clear'

GUITAR HERO: Nile Rodgers onstage in his element (PA)

LEGENDARY MUSICIAN Nile Rodgers has been given the all-clear after battling prostate cancer for more than three years.

The 60-year-old guitarist was originally diagnosed with the condition in 2010 and was given the all-clear in March 2011, before the cancer returned.

However, the Daft Punk collaborator can celebrate breaking another milestone this year, after Get Lucky was ranked as the biggest selling single of the year so far.

Tweeting straight from the examination room, Rodgers posted: “Instead of showing gross internal video I'll show my doctor's fly examination room. I'M ALL CLEAR AGAIN!"

While Rodgers played a string of festivals across the world this year while fighting the cancer, he is again due to perform in Manchester this November alongside Hot Chip and 2ManyDJs.
