Ghana at 60: UK Ghanaians celebrate independence

CELEBRATION: Ghanaians 60th celebration

GHANA'S 60TH Independence anniversary will be celebrated with entertainment shows, dinners and dances by the many Ghanaians and friends of Ghana based in the UK.

First up will be the annual Golden Ball dinner and dance extravaganza on Sunday, March 5 at the Porchester Hall, Porchester Road, London W2 hosted by The Ghana at 60th group and will feature top notch performers and tasty Ghanaian food.

The organisers plan a night of elegance and cultural awareness to celebrate Ghana’s Independence starting at 5pm until 11pm.

Entertainment will include comedy by A Dot, Davidson Live Band and the Belma Cultural Dancers. Music will be Highlife, Afro Beats, Old Skool R&B and classics. Dress code will be black tie or traditional Ghanaian Kente and Ntoma dress. For more information visit:

The official Ghana 60th Independence celebrations will move to The Coronet, New Kent Road, London SE1 on Saturday, March 11 for a night of music, dance and culture hosted by Abrantee from Capital Xtra, Eben Awuah and Sam Appenteng from Desire UK. The event is tipped to be ‘The Greatest Celebration of Ghana’s independence in the UK’.

The concert will start at 10 pm and will feature an exciting diverse group of performers, DJ’s and Dancers of Ghanaian descent including confirmed artist from UK’s Kojo Funds, Afro B plus many more to be announced.
