Freddie McGregor’s son expecting child with beauty queen

FREDDIE MCGREGOR’S son, is expecting his second child with a Jamaican beauty queen, it has been revealed.

Yendi Phillips, first runner-up in the Miss Universe competition, confirmed the news in a posting on her Facebook page yesterday.

“Seventeen weeks and counting…I wish we could have shared it earlier but you know they say it’s bad luck to announce too soon. I’m so excited to tell you that we have a little ‘McGregor’ on the way,” she wrote.

She added: “You know how much I value “you” as you’ve been such a support through my various ventures so I wanted you to know first-hand as this is one of my most exciting to date!”

The 26-year-old beauty queen, who has been dating Daniel ‘Chino’ McGregor since last year, previously dated sprint king, Asafa Powell. The couple, who have never publicly confirmed the status of their romance, said that while there is a possibility of marriage in the future, they will concentrate on the baby and their careers at present.

“I am very excited about the upcoming birth of my son or daughter. Yendi is an extremely responsible person and we were ready for this move, so I feel comfortable, excited and ready because she is a great partner and I have no doubt she will be a great mother who will help instill positive values in our baby,” McGregor, who has a three-year-old daughter, said.

Yendi, created history two years ago when she became the first Jamaican woman to become first runner-up to Miss Universe and had previously placed sixth in the Miss World Pageant.

The beauty who has been featured on numerous magazine covers says she intends to continue working throughout the pregnancy.

"That is just how I am," she laughed, "I just can't seem to slow down. I have always been an extremely driven person and so is Daniel and we remain committed to our goals," Yendi explained
