Former Arsenal star joins Indian exodus

FRESH START: Andre Santos

ANDRE SANTOS has become the latest former Arsenal player to join the new Indian Super League (ISL). It has been confirmed he will join FC Goa which is managed by his fellow Brazilian Zico.

He will link up with midfielder Robert Pires at Goa, while Nicolas Anelka and Freddie Ljungberg) have signed up to play under Peter Reid at Mumbai City.

Santos spent two years at the Emirates, but has been without a club since leaving Flamengo last year after an incident that saw him attacked by their fans after a defeat.

Other players taking part in the ISL, which commences on October 12 include, Alessandro Del Piero and David Trezeguet.
