Fifth teenager arrested over Islamic school blaze

POLICE HAVE arrested a fifth teenager in connection with a fire started at a school for Muslims.

Yesterday, officers in Greenwhich, southeast London, detained an 18-year-old man on suspicion of arson.

He has since been bailed.

The fire at the Darul Uloom School in Foxbury Avenue, Chislehurst, began on June 8 – emergency services responded to the blaze at 11.50pm.

It inflicted minor damage to the property, and two people were treated at the scene for smoke inhalation.

Four teenagers were arrested on June 9, suspected of being involved with the fire – the two 17-year-olds and two 18-year-olds have also been bailed.

Police urge anyone with further information to come forward.
