Diversity’s Ashley Banjo praises prime minister May’s moves

IMPRESSED: Diversity's Ashley Banjo has complimented the prime minister's dancing skills

DIVERSITY DANCER Ashley Banjo has praised the prime minister’s dance moves.

While the leader of the Conservative party’s dance style and that of the professional dancer and frontman of the Britain’s Got Talent-winning group couldn’t be further apart, Banjo has said that May has "got some moves".

In a video for the Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards, May and Banjo are seen discussing the prime minister’s dancing skills, which have been on display several times over the past few months.

May says: “Somebody was showing me the floss the other day.” Banjo, appearing surprised, replied: “No way! Can we see?” The prime minister laughs but declines. Banjo then tries to encourage May by saying: “You've got some moves! I've seen them recently. You’ve got some moves Prime Minister, I’ve seen them. They’re very good, 10/10 from me.”

Despite her reluctance, May shows no signs of stopping dancing anytime soon.

At the end of last month, May was pictured attempting the floss during a visit to Berkshire County Sports Club.

At the Conservative Party conference in Birmingham, May entered the stage dancing to Abba’s hit song Dancing Queen, poking fun at the media coverage of her moves displayed during her trip to Africa.

The Daily Mirror’s Pride of Britain Awards, an annual ceremony recognising the extraordinary bravery and spirit of ordinary Britons, will air on ITV on Tuesday November 6 at 8pm.
