DINA ASHER-SMITH was named Sportswoman of the Year by the Sunday Times on Thursday (Nov 1).

The British sprinter, who became the first British woman to win triple European Championship gold in Berlin, said: "It feels absolutely amazing, it's a honour.

"2017 was a difficult year, I broke my foot. I was very proud to come back from that but I didn't achieve the goals I wanted for that season," she said to Sky Sports.

"I worked really hard to make sure 2018 was a far better year and it was."

Other winners on the night included Women's British Open winner Georgia Hall, who won Young Sportswoman of the Year and England's netball squad who won Team of the Year.
