TROUBLE: Dr. Conrad Murray's Texas medical licence has been suspended
MICHAEL JACKSON'S personal doctor has been banned from practising medicine in Texas, it has been reported.
Dr Conrad Murray, who is currently serving a four-year jail term after he was convicted of involuntary manslaughter following the star's 2009 death, was stripped of his medical certificate on Friday (Feb 10) as a result of his conviction.
The 58-year-old opened a cardiology practice in the state in 2006, but reportedly left in the spring of 2009 to become Jackson's personal doctor. He is believed to have returned to the practice following the Thriller star's death.
This is the second licence that Murray has been suspended following Jackson's death. The Medical Board of California automatically suspended his licence from the date of his incarceration.
Murray, who has appealed his conviction, has a hearing on February 24.
