FAITHFUL: Singer Ciara and son Future
US SINGER Ciara has become very vocal about her beliefs in recent weeks, and she's recently revealed that she's already teaching her one-year-old son, Future, to praise Jesus.
"The other day we were saying, 'Thank you, Jesus' and I would say, 'Say, thank you!' And he would say, 'Tank you!' I'd say, 'Je-sus' and he'd say, 'Yee-yus,'" the 29-year-old singer told People magazine about her son. "It is so sweet!"
The I Bet singer has previously spoken about her son being a gift from God.
"Honestly, I feel like everything in life happens for a reason and my son has been the greatest gift that God has given me in my life and been the most game-changing thing that's happened to my life, in a necessary way."
The 29-year-old singer is currently dating sportsman Russell Wilson , 26, and the couple recently announced their plans to abstain from sex until marriage.
In an interview last month, Caira said they are enjoying the pledge they have set themselves, and they are pleased to be able to share their journey with other members of the Christian faith.
Speaking to news anchor Gayle King on CBS This Morning, the Goodies hitmaker said celibacy has helped the pair really get to know each other.
She said: “It's [celibacy] awesome. I think the cool thing is just being able to share our journey with some other people like us.
“It's a great challenge. I can definitely say that. But it's awesome because we get to really challenge ourselves, get to know each other and really build a foundation.”
Ciara explained she hadn't planned on sharing their decision with the world, but was pleased Wilson revealed their situation in church.
She added: “It was one of those things where it was an organic conversation he was having. I don't think he expected to talk about it either.
“But I guess he was just speaking the reality of what is really going on.”
Wilson - who was previously married to his High School sweetheart Ashton Meem - revealed the couple were opting to go "the Jesus way" by avoiding pre-marital sex in July, explaining the decision came about after a conversation with God.
The devout Christian Seattle Seahawks quarterback said at The Rock Church in San Diego: “She was on tour and I was looking at her in the mirror, and she was sitting there.
“And God spoke to me and said ‘I need you to lead her’... And I was like, ‘Really? Right now?’ And he goes, ‘No, I want you and need you to lead her’.”
Russell added at the time: “If you can really love someone without that then you can really love somebody.”
He joked that he'd need a lot of prayers from the faithful to stick to the plan.
